Volvo Amazon Brandstoftank/Brandstofsysteem
Roestige benzinetanks, een broos tankdeksel en een vermoeide brandstofpomp die slecht koud starten veroorzaakt zijn klassieke problemen bij een Amazon die stil heeft gestaan. De brandstofpomp wordt mechanisch aangedreven door de nokkenas, en de juiste pomp hangt ervan af of de auto een B16, B18 of B20 heeft – de motorwissel naar de B18 kwam in 1961, en de B20 verscheen vanaf augustus 1968 tijdens de laatste modeljaren. De stationwagen heeft bovendien een eigen tankgeometrie die afwijkt van die van de sedan.
